The M2 doesn't look like any other gimbal because it's not like any other gimbal.  Those differences start with our unique six axis stabilization.  The M2, unlike conventional imaging systems, doesn't suffer from "gimbal lock" (loss of control authority near nadir).  Instead, the arms can be configured to provide a level horizon at all times, and when near nadir, to continue providing the operator with full control.    Equally impressive is how the roll axis can provide for cross-track wide area mapping while keeping the horizontal axis of the video perpendicular to the course of the aircraft, or how the M2 can maintain a "North Up" video image when conducting airborne surveillance for extended periods of time.
