The SHOTOVER K1 with an Arri Alexa camera and an Angenieux Optimo 24-290 lens was used for the event. SHOTOVER was honored to exclusively provide stunning aerials from a K1 for the 2013 World Heli Challenge in New Zealand. The World Heli Challenge is an extreme backcountry event that brings together a select group of the best skiers and snowboarders from around the globe to compete in a unique helicopter-accessed competition like no other. Athletes showcase their skills in two competition days - extreme and freestyle - to determine the best overall skier and snowboarder. The first World Heli Challenge took place in 1996 and is a grassroots event created by Tony “Harro” Harrington in Wanaka. The World Heli Challenge lives on through the support, passion and commitment of athletes, volunteers, event team and sponsors worldwide who foster the camaraderie and soul that calls them together in the mountains year after year. The event is expanding to Alaska in 2014 completing the vision of a northern and southern stage for this exciting free ride gathering of athletes and filmers.
