SHOTOVER Begins Shipping Pre-Orders of its Groundbreaking SHOTOVER U1 Drone and G1 Gimbal

Dozens of Production Companies Around the World to Take Delivery of World's First, Professional Grade Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for Broadcast, Motion Picture, Law Enforcement and Industrial Survey Markets

LOS ANGELES (June 24, 2016) – SHOTOVER, maker of high performance stabilization platforms, announced today it will begin shipping pre-orders of its SHOTOVER U1 drone and G1 gimbal (gimbal from the U1 without the aerial component) to the several dozen customers who have placed deposits for the system.  The U1 is the first UAV designed specifically for broadcasters and filmmakers, enabling them to use the same cinema quality cameras and lenses they use for their principal photography.  Law enforcement and industrial users can utilize the U1 as a powerful alternative to aircraft-mounted solutions.

Early adopters of the SHOTOVER U1 include some of the highest profile aerial production companies and cinematographers from around the world including  Pro-Cam Rentals (The Lone Ranger, Oz the Great and Powerful, Iron Man 3), Helicopter Film Services (Captain America: Civil War, Spectre, Ex Machina), Active Camera Systems (The Fifth Wave, Jason Bourne, The Wolf of Wall Street), Black-Tek (clients include Audi, BMW, Red Bull, ARRI, Volkswagen and Formula 1), Team5 Aerial Systems (Jurassic World, Furious 7, Transformers 4), Cinemoves (clients include Nike, Kia, Honda, Nissan) and Motion State (clients include AMC, Red Bull, Chevrolet, Nissan).

Late last month, customers joined SHOTOVER at multi-day demo events in Los Angeles and Munich to put the new systems through their paces and receive hands-on training from company experts.  The SHOTOVER U1 and G1 have found extremely broad interest with companies from countries including the U.S., UK, China, France, Germany and Japan all placing pre-orders.

“To say the U1 is in a class of its own doesn’t do it justice as there’s really nothing else in the same league,” said Kevin LaRosa II, pilot / aerial coordinator at Team5 Aerial Systems.  “The flight control and gyro-stabilization capabilities are nothing short of amazing and after demoing the U1 we knew we had to add it to our stable of advanced shooting systems.  It’s Hollywood’s new standard for high-impact drone cinematography.”

SHOTOVER U1 owners can easily detach the G1 gimbal from the U1’s multirotor for use as a gyro-stabilized platform that can be mounted on vehicles, cables and cranes.  Other U1 features include redundant flight control and battery systems, customized downlink with two HD video feeds and unparalleled stability even at full zoom.

“The G1 delivers rock solid performance and stability in every situation you can throw at it whether going over 90 mph at full zoom or capturing sweeping, wide-angle vistas,” said Thomas Roim, CEO of Black-Tek.  “With its incredible portability, unbeatable user design and easy mounting on cars, boats, trucks, cables and cranes, the G1 is the industry’s most advanced solution for all types of gyro-stabilized shooting.”

“SHOTOVER has created another winner with the G1,” said Cinemoves owner Scott Howell.  “We are excited to add this powerful option to our rental fleet and look forward to helping clients incorporate the G1 into their high speed stabilized shooting.”

“We are incredibly gratified at the intense interest the SHOTOVER U1 and G1 have received since launch and are excited to now begin shipping to our initial group of customers,” said Brad Hurndell, CEO of SHOTOVER.  “The demo and training sessions went phenomenally well and we look forward to experiencing the amazing images our clients create going forward.”
