Catching up with Fernando Hernandez from REVOLUTION Mexico about his experience with the SHOTOVER G1 working on The Voz [The Voice]! REVOLUTION Mexico, a leading equipment rental company in Mexico for over 20 years, recently added the G1 to their lineup of broadcast and production equipment and Fernando was excited to share why he chose SHOTOVER for his business and this live broadcast production.
SHOTOVER: What Was The Set Up You Used For The Voz?
FERNANDO: We went through multiple options before ultimately deciding that the best system for the shoot was the G1 paired with the ARRI Alexa Mini and Ultra Prime 10mm lens mounted on the Revo SpaceCam (joymechanix system from Russia) 4 winch/cable studio system. We also utilized a clip-on mattebox 4x5.65”, ARRI wcu 4 wireless system, Nimbus wireless transmitter, SHOTOVER hand wheels and long range wireless G1 control.
SHOTOVER: What Was the Goal of Purchasing the G1 for The Voz shoot and others like it?
FERNANDO: We wanted to get into music concerts, reality show contests, TV news programs, and other projects we were not able to work in the past. Now with the G1 paired with our Revo Spacecam, we can accommodate these types of shoots and offer new solutions to our clients in the film and TV commercial industries.
SHOTOVER: Why Did You Choose The SHOTOVER G1?
FERNANDO: I decided to choose the SHOTOVER G1 because, after a long search of different manufacturers, I was sure that the G1 was the best gimbal in the market. With the G1’s compact size, super lightweight carbon fiber, flexible configurations for different camera setups, and great payload capacity with excellent stabilization, it was truly the perfect match for us. Having two G1s in our rental inventory gives us the ability to use the systems on multiple productions within the same time frame and has proven to be a fantastic choice.
