SHOTOVER Soars Over Swiss Alps as Camera System of Choice for Samcam.film

SHOTOVER, the manufacturer of high-performance stabilization platforms, announced the sale of a SHOTOVER F1 camera system to top aerial production company, Samcam.Film. Headquartered in Switzerland, the company has more than ten years of production experience, serving international clients such as the BBC, Discovery Channel, and the Fox Network. Samcam plans to utilize their new system for assignments around the globe, with a focus on aerial imagery of the Swiss Alps, throughout the Eiger North Face, Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.

Recently, the team put their new F1 to the test shooting scenes for the fast-paced and stunt-filled motor series Top Gear. “The SHOTOVER F1 is perfectly tailored to support our rigorous shooting schedule,” said Samuel Gyger, head of Samcam.Film. “We had an hour to prepare before our first job with the F1, and everything worked perfectly.” Gyger continued, “It’s apparent that a lot of thought and know-how was involved in the perfecting of this system, from it’s sleek carbon fiber design, 6-axis look down capability, and overall portability, the system is truly a game changer.”

The F1’s modular design allows for the integration of a wide range of professional cameras such as the RED Weapon 8K S35, Arri Alexa Mini, Phantom Flex4K, Canon C500, Sony F55 and F65 along with a broad range of lenses. Out of the box, the system accommodates over 175 different payload combinations. In addition, the F1 has an open platform design, making it upgradeable as more advanced camera and lens become available.

“SamCam.Film is one of the leading production companies in the Alps, and we are pleased to welcome them into the SHOTOVER family,” said SHOTOVER CEO Brad Hurndell. “We look forward to supporting their production and documentary work in 2017 and beyond.”

Relied upon by production companies and broadcasters across 6 continents, the F1 has quickly become with the most recognized camera system for aerial filming. Recent live event coverage includes Formula Once: Spanish Grand Prix, MotoGP: Grand Prix of Qatar, King of the Hammers: The Ultimate Desert Race, and The Tour de France. SHOTOVER continues to be a Hollywood favorite with recent film credits including Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Alien: Covenant, Fast and Furious 8: The Fate of the Furious, and Kong: Skull Island.
