Airborne Films Puts The F1 to Work for Air France Utilizing Unique Under Wing Setup

Specializing in Aerial Cinematography, Director and Co-CEO of Airborne Films, Eric Magnan relied on the SHOTOVER F1 mounted under the wing of a DAHER TBM 940 to capture stunning aerial footage during a recent shoot for Air France.

“The SHOTOVER F1 is the best gyro-stabilized system I have ever used. In my field, it's a real revolution and pushes the limits of aerial cinematography. I used a 250mm lens at speeds above 200 knots, with turbulence on a 90° top shot without the slightest vibration, it’s extraordinary.” said Magnan.

Magnan first utilized the SHOTOVER F1 mounted on an Aerostar to film aerials for Boeing in conjunction with the 2017 Paris Air Show. As a result of the shoots success, Air France wanted the same quality images of their Boeing 787 aircraft.

To capture the right angels and vantage points, Magnan and the Airborne Films team worked with DAHER, aircraft manufacturer of the TBM 940 single-engine turboprop airplane, to develop the F1 under the aircraft wing.

Months of work led to the idea of a custom mount and the results the SHOTOVER F1 was able to make possible are nothing short of breathtaking.
